LA7DR solar powered 2 meter/ 70 cm FM crossband repeater[18/Nov/2007]LA7DR is a solar powered environmental neutral 2 meter/70 cm FM crossband repeater that is located on a hill top in Oslo. With the antennas at about 470 meters above sea level it has a awesome view and horizon towards east, south and west. The repeater is home brew with logic functions for 1750 Hz opening, identification, time out, remote charge status read out and remote emergency shout down. The repeater is powered 100% by solar panels and has been operational for 18 month continuously. The crossband repeater is located in an area that is well suited for antennas and hence has a lot of strong signals in the VHF band.To prevent de-sensing, intermodulation and false openings we have installed an external 4 pole band pass filter as a protection. It is solid and robust constucted and with solar power the repeater it well suited for emergency communications in the south-east part of Norway. The repeater was licensed and got the call sign LA7DR from the Norwegian Telecommunication Authority on October 5 2005. We would very much like coverage reports. Please post reports to la7dr[æ]la5mda.no
